Terms of use
What you can expect from Gerund, and what we expect in return.
What Gerund is
An English grammar learning platform for students, teachers and parents. It is a teaching aid. It does not replace a teacher, and it is not a qualification.
Accounts
A student's account is created by their teacher or their parent. The student chooses their own PIN and should not share it. A teacher may reset a PIN; nobody can read one.
Do not create an account for a child who is not yours or not in your class.
Paying
Some units are free. Others need a paid plan or a teacher's licence. Prices are shown before you pay. A teacher who charges their students for tuition does so directly — Gerund does not handle that money and is not a party to it.
If you are a professional learner on Gerund for Work, what you pay for and how it is returned are set out in the payment and access terms for that programme.
Fair use
Do not copy the questions or lessons for use elsewhere. Do not attempt to reach another person's account. Do not use the AI tutor for anything other than learning English.
Questions and material you add
Teachers can write their own questions in Gerund. What you write stays yours. By adding it, you give Gerund a free, non-exclusive, worldwide and lasting licence to store it, use it in your tests and papers, and — after review, edited if needed — include it in Gerund's shared question bank for other learners. Gerund may credit you by name. You confirm that what you add is your own work or that you have the right to share it, and that it contains no student's personal details.
What we do not promise
We work to keep Gerund available and correct, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or free of mistakes. Content is for learning, not an authority on English usage. Tell us about an error and we will fix it.
Ending it
You may stop using Gerund at any time and ask us to delete the account. We may close an account that is used to harm another person.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Bengaluru have jurisdiction.
